On educational-technology upgrades, presenters described the district's difficulty obtaining parts for older smart boards and said a new interactive-board product would be more reliable and economical over time. Finance staff illustrated the long-term cost trade-off: "If a projector goes out ... it's $1,200 to replace that," Doctor Robinson said, comparing that to a new board priced at about $1,750 and noting expected longevity and reduced maintenance delays.
The district said principals had been consulted and that the installing company would remove old boards and transport them to surplus, reducing labor for district staff. The board moved and unanimously approved the interactive-board replacement and the related procurement approach.
The consent agenda items a1 through a6 also passed by unanimous vote, and the board approved personnel lists presented on the meeting exhibit (with one clerical correction noted in the minutes regarding an erroneously listed resignation).
