Passaic County Sheriff's Office receives state accreditation recognition

"This program... has sailed to transparently demonstrate the professionalism, transparency and preparedness of state's law enforcement agencies," Harry Delgado, accreditation program director for the chiefs association, said while describing the standards and on-site assessment process.
Delgado said roughly 118 standards are evaluated and that fewer than two-thirds of New Jersey law-enforcement agencies that could apply have achieved accreditation. Under-sheriff Wheeler and under-sheriff Tangora accepted the recognition on behalf of Sheriff Adamo, who was unable to attend due to a family emergency.
County officials credited sheriff's office leadership and county administration for supporting the process. Detective Amanda Putzerwinski was singled out in remarks as a key team leader in the accreditation effort and is due for an upcoming promotion, the transcript shows.
No vote or financial action accompanied the presentation; commissioners joined in a group photo and thanked staff for their work.
