Council members asked about weight limits on alternate bridges and how long the detour would last; DOTD staff present said they did not yet have a precise duration while the project remains in design but that inspected bridges in the detour route would support the necessary loads.
Councilman Goff moved the resolution, Councilman Mangus seconded, and the council recorded a unanimous vote of nine members in favor.
The action authorizes parish leadership to finalize the intergovernmental agreement with DOTD for the detour routing so the bridge replacement may proceed according to the DOTD schedule.
