Commission authorizes RFP for new ERP system and approves five employee policy updates

The West Fargo City Commission on Nov. 17 authorized staff to publish a request for proposals (RFP) for a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and approved five employee-policy updates.
Finance Director Willie Galindo said he reviewed the current ERP and staff feedback and recommended issuing an RFP covering procurement and capital improvement planning modules. He said an evaluation committee will include the mayor, Commissioner Anderson as the primary portfolio commissioner, a secondary commissioner, and staff representatives from finance, public works and engineering. "We're looking at modules that include procurement and capital improvement planning software," Galindo said.
City Administrator Dustin Scott presented five Lexipol policy updates on leave, overtime, comp time and holidays and answered commissioner questions about vacation-request timing and remote-work flexibility; he said supervisors may exercise discretion in practice and that staff will consider clarifying language where needed.
Both items were approved by motion and vote. Staff will publish the ERP RFP and form the evaluation committee; policy language updates will be implemented following the commission’s approval.
What's next: staff will publish the RFP, form an evaluation committee and proceed with vendor selection steps; staff will follow up on requested clarifications to the updated personnel policies.
