Tiburon council adopts updated building code, ratifies local fire districts’ fire-code adoption

The Tiburon Town Council adopted amendments Dec. 3 to the municipal building code to incorporate the latest state-authorized construction, CalGreen and energy codes and to ratify local fire districts’ fire-code adoptions.
Staff said the item had its first reading Nov. 19, the clerk properly posted the ordinance amendment as required by state law, and recommended waiving second reading and adopting the ordinance. There was no public testimony on this item at the hearing.
A council member moved to adopt the ordinance by reference, with modifications to incorporate the latest state construction and fire codes and to ratify the Southern Marin Fire District’s and Tiburon Fire Protection District’s adoption of the fire codes. The motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with all present members voting yes (Council member Ryan absent).
