The Town of Garner issued a proclamation on Nov. 18 declaring November 2025 as Hunger Action Month. The proclamation, read by the mayor, cited Wake County statistics (including 126,000 individuals in food‑insecure households and 33,550 food‑insecure children) and noted local partners that support food access—Community of Hope Ministries, Garner Area Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Backpack Buddies, local churches, Rotary and businesses.
