The Marathon County Environmental Resources Committee, meeting Dec. 2, approved several procedural and land‑use items by voice vote and forwarded recommendations to the County Board.
The committee voted to approve the Nov. 4, 2025 meeting minutes with a correction in the wording of item 7(b) (rescind was substituted for resend) after Supervisor Kroll requested the change.
On a separate agenda item, the committee recommended approval of a petition by Chad Dietch to rezone a parcel in the Town of Elderon from a Rural Residential/General Agriculture classification to Rural Residential; Supervisor Seefeldt made the motion and Supervisor Sorenborn seconded. Staff had told the committee the town board recommended approval and that the request meets zoning district standards and the town comprehensive plan.
The committee also approved the annual county forest work plan and forwarded it to the County Board; Supervisor Seefeldt moved the item and Supervisor Drabek seconded. Finally, the committee approved the county's annual application to remain in the County Forest Acreage Shared Loan program; Supervisor Kroll moved and Supervisor Kurs seconded.
All recorded motions passed by voice vote and were recorded in the meeting as "motion carries." The committee set its next meeting for Jan. 6, 2026.
