Layton staff explain HB48-driven wildfire code change, map redraw and fireworks limits
Fire officials told the council that House Bill 48 requires adoption of the 2006 Utah Wildland Urban Interface code and a WUI map for program eligibility; staff proposed shrinking the mapped area to reduce unintended restrictions and noted mapped WUI areas will ban fireworks under the code.
