The Dearborn County Board of Commissioners approved its annual list of department heads and several board appointments for the coming year, including naming Max Webster to an emergency management advisory seat.
Commissioners reviewed posted lists and discussed vacancies on several county advisory boards — including community corrections, regional sewer and emergency management — and debated whether to table appointments until current incumbents were contacted. After discussion, the board approved the stated slate of appointments with the noted change replacing a named incumbent with Max Webster on emergency management.
Separately, county staff requested use of remaining EMS/fleet funds to purchase a new ambulance power-load system. Staff said the request draws from leftover funds in the current fiscal year; the county’s share was presented as a small per‑capita portion of a multi‑agency agreement for water-quality or mutual services in a separate memorandum item. Commissioners asked for details on pricing and timing and indicated they will process procurement consistent with fiscal rules.
The board also discussed internal appointment processes, including developing a clearer procedure to rotate or recruit members for county advisory boards, and confirmed statutory compliance items such as a noted IC code cited in the meeting packet.
Votes on appointments were recorded as approved in the meeting record.
