The Elko County School District board approved a set of administrative items on the consent and action agendas, including a requested extension to complete the district’s single audit and final approval of a master agreement after closed session.
Miss Dahlke, a district finance official, told the board the Office of Management and Budget’s compliance supplement (guidance auditors use to test federal funding) was delayed and that without the final supplement the district cannot issue its single audit. She said dual-dating the financial reports was possible but would increase district costs, so the district requested an extension to the Department of Taxation. The board moved, seconded and approved the extension.
Earlier the board approved Item 3.01, accepting a donated trailer to Shania Hardy. The board also approved accounts payable after disclosures from trustees who noted potential conflicts; motions carried by voice vote.
Later in the meeting, the board convened a closed session under NRS 288.220 to meet with district negotiating management representatives. After returning to open session, trustees moved to approve the master agreement discussed in closed session; the motion passed by voice vote.
No roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript beyond aye/voice confirmations, and the board did not provide further public detail about the closed-session negotiations in the open meeting beyond the formal vote to accept the agreement.
