Board leadership opened item 5 by thanking Interim Superintendent Miss Aguirre for her service during the transition and saying the board had discussed contract terms in closed session under the Texas Government Code. Board President moved to approve the contract as discussed in closed session and to offer employment to Dr. Lusk; Trustee Kahl seconded. The board recorded the motion as approved, 7-0.
Interim Superintendent Miss Aguirre offered public remarks welcoming Dr. Lusk and reflected on the district’s dedication during the transition. Board members expressed excitement that Dr. Lusk will begin work immediately; the board noted he will start the day after the meeting.
