GREEN BAY — In an informational director’s report Dec. 10, the Department of Public Works told the Improvement and Services Committee that crews have cleared primary roadways and residential routes after a recent snow event and that pedestrian crossings have been dug out and treated.
Staff said patrol trucks will report at 4 a.m. the next day to begin applying traction sand on residential routes to get ahead of forecast extreme cold. "While applying traction sand, we'll be pushing back parked cars in needed areas while trying to clean up roads," staff said. Night crews will follow up where a new route was missed, and staff confirmed the route for Hinkle is on the maps and will be added to future runs.
A committee member asked about leaves that were put at terraces and then covered by snow; staff said those leaves will be collected in spring once plowing operations subside. The committee voted to receive and place the director's verbal report on file.
