The Bullhead City School Board approved several routine but consequential items during its Dec. 16 regular meeting: an additional Title I preschool paraprofessional at Diamondback, the district’s strategic plan for 2026–27, and Sample 1 of the 2026–27 school calendar.

Superintendent recommended adding the paraprofessional after principals indicated how they would allocate additional Title I funds; the board moved and approved the position for the remainder of the year by roll-call vote. The superintendent said the position addresses a vacancy created earlier in the year and will come from available Title I funding.

Trustees then approved the strategic plan (academic plan plus plans from five committees) and an action plan for the coming school year, following a motion and roll-call approval. Separately, the superintendent presented three calendar samples; the employee advisory committee recommended Sample 1 and the board approved that calendar sample for 2026–27.

These items were approved with roll-call votes and were included in the consent/regular agenda; staff will proceed with hiring for the paraprofessional and begin implementation of the strategic and calendar plans.
