Planning commission approves three subdivision plats, flags addressing issue

The City of Tallahoma Planning Commission approved three final subdivision plats at its Dec. 15 meeting, allowing the applicants to record new lots and proceed with local permitting.

The Boggs Cook Road final plat (394 Cook Road) — applicant Danny Boggs — was approved after staff explained the split would create a 3.96-acre lot with the existing home and an approximately 11-acre tract accessed via a 50-foot flagpole. The commission approved the plat by voice vote; the minutes record the outcome as 6 to 0.

The Wells/Yeager Street filing was clarified as a two‑lot final plat (the agenda packet had a typographical error listing three). Staff and the applicant confirmed the filing is for two new lots; the commission approved the plat subject to standard staff conditions.

For 1006 East Lincoln Street (applicant David Rhodes), staff said the proposed 0.55‑acre lot would retain access off East Lincoln Street and the resulting ~0.3‑acre lot would take access off East Lauderdale Street public alley. Staff informed the commission that 911 addressing currently shows two Lauderdale Streets running in parallel, which has created addressing confusion; resolving the issue may require a street rename and a formal process through the planning commission and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The commission approved the East Lincoln final plat by voice vote (recorded 6 to 0).

Each approval included the staff recommendations and conditions noted in the packet; staff told applicants what next steps are for recording and for any required preconstruction submissions.
