Reno County officials gave annual reports Nov. 26 that outlined election administration, tax distributions, fraud‑prevention steps and department performance.
“Good morning, commissioners. Jenna Fager, Reno County Clerk,” Fager said, noting this is her first year as county clerk and that roughly half her office is new. She told the board her office trained 175 election board workers and completed the 2025 city and school election with just over 18% turnout and 7,983 votes counted.
Treasurer Rochelle Calvert reported the county has completed five of six major tax distributions for the year and has distributed more than $128,700,000 so far to entities supported by tax dollars. “We have distributed over a $128,700,000 to the entities that are supported by tax dollars,” Calvert said, adding that one final distribution remains in December.
Both officials described administrative improvements: the clerk’s office continues cross‑training to strengthen operations and the treasurer’s office has adopted positive‑pay bank processes and purchased an automated currency counter to detect counterfeits and improve accuracy. Calvert also cited a favorable KDOR audit for the county tag department and noted the 2025 personalized‑plate reissue added work but expanded customer options.
Commissioners thanked staff for service and customer‑facing efficiency; several commissioners described recent personal experiences with the tag and treasurer offices, calling the interactions smooth and staff courteous.
The reports will feed into year‑end closings and the 2027 budget process. Officials said they will present any final tax distribution results after the December disbursement is complete.
