Court names private access 'Lane 14 Lane' after application from homeowner
Harney County Court approved Resolution 2025-31 to name a private access road 'Lane 14 Lane' after staff said the access now serves four homes and no formal opposition to the proposed name was received.

Planning staff reported that a private access off Crane Buchanan Road now serves four residences and that, under county zoning, a private access serving three or more buildings should be assigned a name for public-safety and addressing reasons. Applicant Joe Whitsall proposed the primary name 'Lane 14' with 'Steensview' as an alternate. Staff said two notices were mailed (Oct. 20 and Nov. 11) and they had not received formal written opposition from the other landowners.
