RPS reports enrollment gains and plans district-level tracking as development accelerates

RPS reported a modest rebound in fall membership and 221 additional enrollments since the September snapshot; the enrollment director said the division is improving outreach to rising kindergarten families, refining projections and developing district-by-district data to inform staffing and facility planning.

Luke Hostetter, director of enrollment placement and planning, told the board that Richmond Public Schools—nrollment is up compared with last year and that the division had enrolled 221 additional students since the fall student record collection as of Nov. 21. Hostetter described the division's projection method (historic grade-progression pairs and birth-rate-based kindergarten projections) and said the projection for the current year was 99.6% accurate.
