Sherburne County board amends minutes, updates wireless-device policy and corrects contract language

Sherburne County commissioners approved several consent items during their regular meeting, adopting a corrected meeting date in the official minutes and approving updates to county policies and contracts.
Staff pointed out a scrivener’s error in the draft minutes that listed a meeting date as Dec. 18 when it should have read Nov. 18; commissioners voted to approve the minutes as amended. County staff then read corrections to a Human Services agreement with the sheriff’s office, saying contract language had been clarified and redistributed to commissioners; the board approved that change as well.
A larger amendment involved the county’s wireless communication device policy. County staff explained the update requires the RAVE public-safety application and associated text and email alerts to be installed and operational on county-owned devices and on employee-owned devices that receive monthly reimbursement. Staff said the change is intended to ensure consistent alerting and safety communications before employees receive device reimbursement.
Commissioner Felber moved to approve the policy updates; the motion passed on a roll-call vote. The consent agenda otherwise passed with the three items removed for separate consideration.
