"I would propose pulling an additional proposed goal just to really solidify a report on the library budget impacts for commission," the library staff member said during the presentation, describing the intent to bring a report that would allow commissioners to provide timely feedback.
Commissioners generally supported adding a budget item but debated when it should appear in the calendar; several said an earlier placement in the budget timeline would allow the commission to influence decisions about revenues and expenditures rather than only receiving post-hoc information. Commissioners also discussed exploring sponsorships and community fundraising as part of the engagement strategy.
