The Waverly Planning and Zoning Commission voted to forward a plat of survey for Parcel FF, a parcel at 908 Cedar Lane, to the City Council for final consideration.
Paige, a city staff member, explained the plat adjusts property lines by taking some land from 910 Cedar Lane and combining it with 908 Cedar Lane to provide more room near the driveway and to meet setbacks for 910 Sierra Lane. An unnamed commissioner moved to approve and transmit the plat to the council; the motion specifically referenced “the plat of survey for Parcel FF located at 908 Cedar Lane, Waverly, Iowa.” The chair called for a voice vote, commissioners responded “aye,” and the motion carried.
A resident representing the affected property said, “Our hope is to eventually put a shed there because we don't have enough room for a shed,” and described limited buildable area on the sloped lot. Paige noted Romeo was present to answer questions and confirmed setbacks for the neighboring parcel would still be met.
Staff told the commission the plat will be placed on the City Council agenda for Dec. 15 and that staff would email follow-up information to commissioners. The commission’s action transmits the survey to the City Council; the council will make the final decision on the plat.
No formal amendments or votes on the substance of the lot configuration were recorded beyond the motion to forward the plat. Follow-up will proceed through the City Council process.
