Commission approves Business Oregon fairgrounds projects and prevailing‑wage bidding

Staff reported Business Oregon is willing to extend the grant deadline into April if the county requests it and confirmed the projects qualify as capital improvements. Two previously approved projects (sheep shell ring shelter and arena wall improvements) will be paid through the grant; five additional projects were proposed for bid.
Staff noted posted bid numbers in the packet did not include prevailing‑wage adjustments; the county will include prevailing‑wage requirements in requests for proposals and will scrub projects if necessary to ensure full use of the grant allotment. The board moved to approve the revised program project list, direct staff to prepare prevailing‑wage procurement and prepare necessary budget adjustments. The motion carried.
