County staff proposed replacing the current AccuFund financial software with MTS, a finance product tailored for New Hampshire municipalities, to gain purchase-order, fixed-asset and budgeting modules that were not successfully implemented in the current system.
Staff said the conversion cost is $30,000 with ongoing monthly fees similar to current spending. To secure an implementation slot, the vendor offered to accept a $1,000 down payment rather than the standard 50% deposit; staff requested and received commission approval to lock the county into the vendor queue so conversion work could start in April.
Proponents said the switch would eliminate parallel QuickBooks workflows for water billing and reduce staff time and errors by consolidating systems. Commissioners asked about cost and timing; staff answered that the purchase order function and integrated modules are the primary operational benefits and that the county would begin conversion early next year.
The commission approved the conversion and authorized the $1,000 deposit to secure scheduling.
