Keizer resident proposes 'Adopt‑a‑Pot' program to beautify park entrances

Keizer — Tim Rogers, a longtime Keizer resident, proposed an ‘‘Adopt‑a‑Pot’’ program at the Dec. 9 Keizer Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting to spruce up pots along the Keizer Rapids Park entrance.
Rogers said the pots run from the parking entrance toward the amphitheater and that there are roughly 29 near the parking area and perhaps 35 including amphitheater planters. He proposed local businesses sponsor individual pots, provide planting and maintenance, and receive modest recognition via small signs. He suggested tying the effort to Keizerfest with a public vote on favorite pots and noted he would solicit sponsors and try to secure a sponsor prize.
Board members thanked Rogers for the idea and encouraged him to meet with Parks Manager Robert Johnson to discuss watering, power‑washing and logistical support. Chair said the board would make a note for staff to follow up so the idea could be fleshed out.
