Killian, who addressed the board after the announcement, thanked supervisors and department heads for their support and said the role was not something she had been seeking. “What a year it’s been,” she said. “I wanna thank the entire board for the continued support and trust in my leadership and guidance. I certainly wanna recognize all of the department heads. You’ve truly made transitioning into this role much easier.”
In the same session the board approved a long list of routine and programmatic items by voice vote or roll call. Those included appointments to the Board of Health and other advisory committees and subcommittees; adoption of county contracting, purchasing and annual training policies; awards of multiple bids and contracts for county operations (including maintenance and construction bids and vendor contracts for the nursing and rehabilitation center); and authorization for the county to accept a final grant award from the New York State Department of Health for the Department of Health.
Clerks and staff reported two notices of claims on behalf of the county and read a notice from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets acknowledging that a proposed modification of agricultural districts 2 and 3, referenced as resolution 2025 4 72, is feasible and in the public interest.
The board also moved year‑end 2025 budget amendments, adopted 2026 miscellaneous pay rates and benefit provisions for county employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements, and established the county’s 2026 organizational meeting. Most items were approved by unanimous consent or overwhelming 'Aye' responses in roll-call votes; several roll-call tallies recorded one absence.
Other routine business included authorization for the chairman to sign contracts across departments — examples include agreements for consulting and supplemental rehabilitation staffing at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and maintenance contracts for county facilities — and multiple bid awards (bid numbers cited in the agenda for procurement tracking).
