Paulding planning panel recommends Hiram rezoning applications with five staff stipulations

The Paulding County Planning Commission on an advisory vote recommended approval of multiple City of Hiram land-use applications, subject to five staff‑recommended stipulations for each application.

Kevin Moore, representing the property owner for one application, told the commission the 1.36‑acre parcel was “inadvertently included” in a prior R‑55 rezone and the request is to return it to B‑2 Highway Business so it can be developed alongside adjacent commercial parcels. Moore said the owner agrees to the five listed stipulations.

Commission members voted by voice to approve the Hiram items and instructed applicants to contact the Hiram zoning administrator to schedule the related public hearings. The motion records show the approvals were recommended by the planning commission with voting reported in the meeting as 6 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain for the items where a count was recorded.

Staff explained the approvals are advisory recommendations that will be forwarded to the City of Hiram; the city government will hold final hearings and make the final determinations. The commission emphasized adherence to the five stipulations when forwarding recommendations.
