Guymon tourism board recommends three small-business grants totaling $13,206.98 to city council

The Guymon Convention and Tourism Board voted unanimously at its regular meeting to recommend three small-business grant awards totaling $13,206.98 to the Guymon City Council for final approval.

Rachel, an applicant for Life's Plan Physical Therapy, told the board the business plans to add awnings and canopies on its exterior "for protection with energy efficiency, some protection as the patient enter and exit the clinic." The board discussed use of local contractors and administrative paperwork before an unnamed member moved to recommend $3,206.98; the motion passed on a voice vote, 4-0.

Sean, representing Advanced Water Solutions, described completed parking-lot improvements and said the work "looks great," drawing praise from board members. A motion to recommend $5,000 for the parking project was moved and seconded by Greg Conn; the recommendation passed 4-0.

Mitch presented exterior renovations at a second downtown building, including repainting and retention of exposed brick. The board approved recommending $5,000 to 3 Rex LLC by voice vote, 4-0.
