The code officer said a courtesy notice to board and secure was sent in August because a door and several windows were partially open and the rear of the house was easily accessible, creating what staff described as an abandoned appearance. "Back in August, I sent a courtesy notice to board and secure the building as the door is partially open," the officer said.
Staff told the panel that the owner, identified as Martotino, came to the office, applied for a permit and paid fees. The owner told staff he would start work Jan. 2. The presiding official noted that while a permit gives the owner up to six months to complete work, a 30‑day agreement to secure the building is appropriate as an initial step; the panel agreed to table the formal board‑and‑secure action while staff follows up on boarding and progress.
The item was tabled with the understanding that staff will verify boarding and monitor permit-related activity. The hearing adjourned after the two cases were concluded.
