Sunset Junior High replacement nears completion, district architect says

Brian Turner, director of architectural services for the Davis County School District, said the district’s replacement of Sunset Junior High School is nearing completion, with classroom wings finished and carpets being laid.

"Classroom wings are complete, carpets being laid," Turner said, adding that "the rest of the spaces are in different stages of completion and contractors [are] making the final push to get that wrapped up." He described the project as a replacement that will provide a "state of the art building for that community."

The update included no new schedule or budget figures. Turner’s remarks focused on construction progress and finishing work; he did not report a formal completion date or cite specific contract amendments. The district previously identified Sunset Junior High as a replacement project intended to modernize facilities serving the local attendance area.
