Northshore PTAs endorse levy, bond and host advocacy events ahead of February ballot

Brene Brix, co‑vice president of the Northshore Council PTSA, addressed the board to report PTA membership awards and the council’s recent actions in support of district funding measures.
Brix said the council voted at its Nov. 17 general membership meeting to support the district’s educational programs and operations levy renewal, the technology levy renewal, and a capital projects bond that will appear on the February ballot. She said the council will publish the full text of its resolution on its website.
Brix also promoted two advocacy events: an Educational Funding Crisis regional town hall on Jan. 7 featuring the state superintendent and other speakers, and Washington State PTA Focus Day in Olympia on Jan. 19. Additionally, the council purchased a parent map license with the North Shore Schools Foundation to host parent‑education talks, including a Jan. 21 presentation titled “Inside the ADHD Mind.”
