Committee greenlights pilot composting kiosk and hears school sustainability roadmap

The committee reviewed a USDA county grant that will fund a single lockable composting kiosk as a pilot, designed by the Madison Children's Museum and intended as an opt-in program with coded access for participants. Christie Kelly, sustainability staff, explained the kiosk will have limited-acceptance food bins, will be picked up by Purple Cow under county administration, and will be governed by an MOU that defines city and county responsibilities including bolting kiosks into concrete and maintenance arrangements.
