District facilities director reports progress on multiple school construction projects

Stubser reported completion of Henderson’s storm shelter and gym turnover to the building, progress at Fairmount (exterior masonry and storm‑rated windows installed; interior CMU work ongoing) and substantial work at the transportation site, including underground fuel tank inspections and grading for the fuel island. At Francis Howell High, Stubser said auditorium work is complete and that auditorium capacity rose from about 225 to 396 with added ADA spaces and modernized HVAC and acoustics. He described a wrestling storm shelter/multipurpose addition already in use and displayed photos of finished spaces.
On Francis Howell Union (former building), crews discovered previously unknown utility tunnels during demolition, affecting backfill and elevation decisions; Stubser said the board will receive recommendations to address needed earthwork. He also noted long lead times for phase‑2 mechanical equipment (about six months) and pending bleacher replacements that are likely to occur over winter break due to manufacturing delays.
Stubser invited questions and said more detailed scheduling and a full phase‑2 kickoff would be presented at the next quarterly update.
