Wright County approves amendment for 4 Corner Bridge, increasing box culvert estimate to $600,000
The Wright County Board approved an amendment to the 2026 five-year road program to replace a failing structure on D20 at R33 with a double box culvert; the change raises the project estimate from about $400,000 to $600,000 and will be submitted to the Iowa DOT/STIP for reimbursement, which staff said will be 100% VR funds.

Adam Clemens told the Wright County Board of Supervisors that a design change for the structure on D20 at R33 — locally known as the “4 Corner Bridge” — requires replacing the aging bridge with a double box culvert and raised the cost estimate from about $400,000 to $600,000. Clemens said the work will be submitted to the Iowa Department of Transportation and added to the State Transportation Improvement Program for letting.
