Lititz Borough Council approved a land-swap that transfers portions of park property and a leased parking area to accommodate a planned roundabout and trail-right-of-way adjacent to the rec center.

Planning staff described the transaction as transferring about half an acre: roughly one-quarter acre will be used immediately for the roundabout alignment and 0.28 acres (formerly part of the rec-center parking lot that had been leased from the park) will be reassigned to the rec center parcel. Staff said the church and park partners reviewed the proposal, raised one comment that has since been addressed, and that the swap will support trail and right-of-way work tied to the larger runabout-line project.

Council moved to approve the land-swap and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the action is a step in a multi-step process that includes right-of-way valuation work (Norfolk Southern) and potential grant applications to help offset costs.

Next steps include finalizing right-of-way valuations and pursuing grant funding where applicable.
