Rockingham Schools approves conversion and purchase to refresh activity bus fleet

The Rockingham County Schools board approved a staff recommendation to convert six older yellow school buses into activity buses and to purchase four 14‑passenger vans for high‑school use. Transportation staff said the conversions and purchases would be funded from the district’s activity bus fund — fees collected for activity bus usage — and would be significantly less costly than purchasing new buses.
