Fayette County 911 reports trainees, CPR training and address-alert software updates

Jeff Griffin, representing Fayette County 911 dispatch, briefed the commissioners on several operations and training items:
- Electronic payroll: Griffin said the recent transition to electronic payroll worked and staff expect checks to be issued on schedule. - Training and staffing: Three trainees are close to being ready for dispatch duty and are expected to begin on the schedule starting Sept. 20, contingent on outstanding IDAC/state police packet completion. Griffin appointed Sam Caldwell as lead supervisor during his upcoming absence. - CPR and address features: The department will hold CPR training conducted by Nate Stevens from the fire department and is implementing software changes (Flex) that will provide address-history and address-based alerts so dispatchers can see critical medical information tied to locations.
Griffin noted some tasks remain—obtaining required credentials for trainees and geo-validating historic addresses—but said these improvements should make call-taking more consistent and efficient.
