Travis Shepherd, meeting chair of the Jennings County Development Commission, said the commission needed to approve an outstanding invoice to consultant Strand and noted the firm had billed $7,500 to date, with $2,400 already paid and $5,100 remaining.
A commissioner moved to approve payment of up to $5,100 to Strand; the motion was seconded by Jeanne and the board voted in favor with no opposition recorded. Commissioners discussed whether the study would require additional tasks that could increase cost. Shepherd and others confirmed the consultant had represented the full study price as $60,000 inclusive and that the $7,500 already billed was part of that total.
Commissioners asked staff to clarify whether any new scope would trigger additional charges and to circulate the minutes and documentation of the work completed so far. The vote covered only the outstanding invoice balance; no additional authorizations for extra work were made at the meeting.
The commission then moved on to a consultant presentation about study parcels and traffic inputs. The meeting adjourned after the presentation.
