District staff outlined a plan to move parts of the district's staff and student information systems from Frontline to PowerSchool.
Missus Sleet and other staff told the education committee the district has run four demos of PowerSchool Perform and surveyed teacher leaders and administrators. "We had 0 responses that said I strongly recommend staying with Frontline," the presenter said, noting the district's evaluation and professional-learning needs have not been fully met by Frontline. Staff said PowerSchool Perform would reduce duplicate data entry and hidden operational costs and that the district would pilot the system in spring with a planned April start of testing and an aim to be ready for the 2026-27 school year.
Staff also recommended consolidating special-programs data (including IEPs) and ELL records currently held in a platform called Elevations into PowerSchool Special Programs. The presenter said the ongoing annual cost for that module is "about $33,000 after the initial implementation," and that there will be migration/setup expenses; she cautioned the $33,000 figure was approximate. Board members asked for clarifications about which Frontline modules would remain; staff said the district is only proposing to replace the professional-growth piece and would continue using Frontline recruiting/hiring and HRMS until further notice.
The finance committee separately noted the district plans to vet Sourcewell cooperative purchasing for forthcoming transportation fuel-dispensing needs; staff said they will bring formal approvals back to the full board.
