After seating new commissioners, the Springfield City Commission moved through a slate of liaison designations and appointments to city and county advisory boards.
Commissioner Chris Wallace presented a list of liaison assignments that included representation to the Clark County combined health district, the Clark County fairgrounds board, Community Beautification Programs, the Neighborhood Housing Partnership Board, and the Solid Waste Policy Committee. The slate also named commissioner liaisons to the Community Grant Advisory Board, Criminal Justice Council, the Municipal Airport Advisory Board, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Civil Service Commission, the Community Police Advisory Team, the Convention Facilities Authority, the Metropolitan Housing Authority, the military and veterans group and the Clark County Parks District. The clerk read official appointment titles by board and noted emergency declarations for several items; the commission recorded affirmative roll-call votes on the slate.
The commission also confirmed appointments to specific boards and committees: Rigsby and Tackett (with alternates) were named to the Clark County–Springfield Transportation Coordinating Committee; Tracy Tackett, James Wills, Stephen Thompson and Madison Jones were appointed to the Keep Clark County Beautiful Advisory Board; and Jill Allen was designated as the commission’s designee under Ohio Revised Code sections 149.43 and 109.43 for public-records and sunshine-law matters. The commission consented to the appointment of a planning-board member identified in the record as Bridget Houston; a subsequent entry in the record refers to the planning-board representative as "Bridget House," a discrepancy noted in the meeting record.
Most items were approved by roll call without extended debate. The presiding officer closed by thanking attendees and noting the challenging political environment ahead.
The meeting adjourned after recording the final votes.
