Marshall County commissioners on Oct. 22 approved payment of $3,354 to cover the county’s portion of a drafting and submittal fee for a bridge investment program application.
Staff said the county previously approved a $1,212 application fee in June 2023 when multiple counties joined the application. With two counties later dropping out, the county’s share increased. Staff asked the commission to authorize payment of $2,064 for continued AECOM work to pursue federal construction grant funds; combined with the previous $1,290 entry from countywide funds, the total immediate payment requested is $3,354.
An official motion to approve the $3,354 payment specified that $1,290 come from countywide funds and $2,064 from District 4 funds; the motion was seconded and the commission recorded unanimous approval.
Staff said the county has received a federal construction grant that continues the process to apply for federal funds through the bridge investment program and that the payment would allow AECOM to continue that application work. The commission did not request additional funds at the meeting.
The commission directed staff to proceed with the payment from the identified funds.
