The Sandy Springs City Council approved a contract award on Jan. 6 to Sol Construction LLC for the Long Island Drive at Mount Vernon Highway intersection improvement project (project number 2403). Public Works Director Marty Martin told council Sol Construction was the lowest responsive bidder at $769,719; the city's engineer estimate had been approximately $1,100,000.
