Steele County begins first reading of floodplain ordinance updates tied to state code changes

County staff told the board the state legislature has updated chapter references in the century code that affect floodplain authorization language. The changes are administrative in nature (updated statutory references) rather than substantive policy changes, and staff said the local ordinance already was updated last year to reflect new maps.
