Board authorizes $1 million additional allotment for Pier E2; half covers unforeseen conditions

The board approved an additional $1,000,000 construction allotment for the Pier E2 parking lot project on Dec. 9, revising the construction allotment to a not‑to‑exceed $1,896,564.
Deputy Director Carl Holmes said the Pier E2 work is funded by MTC/BATA as a mitigation obligation and that construction in YBI projects often uncovers man‑made buried objects and unforeseen concrete structures; the allotment mechanism allows the project to address these issues. Holmes said half of the requested increase is to address unforeseen conditions and the other half adds pedestrian access scope and improvements at the vista point.
Commissioner Dorsey moved the item and Commissioner Cheryl seconded; the chair recorded the motion as passing with no public comment on the item.
