The Stockton City Council voted to approve a contract with Peckham & McKinney to recruit for six Administrative Services Department vacancies, including chief financial roles and procurement management.
Rosemary Rivas, director of human resources, told council staff issued a formal RFP, received nine responses, and selected Peckham & McKinney following departmental review. The contract was advanced at council request to expedite recruiting rather than waiting additional weeks.
Councilmember Villapadua moved for approval and the motion was seconded; the mayor called for a vote and the motion carried 6–0 with Councilmember Ponce recorded absent. "Motion carries 6 to 0 with councilwoman Ponce absent," the clerk stated.
Next steps: Human Resources will proceed with the recruitment contract implementation and start the search process under the approved scope; staffing updates will return to council as positions are filled.
