Board authorizes 15-year suspension settlement in license appeal

The Utah Wildlife Board heard a proposed settlement in an appeal requested by Brandon Jeffs concerning suspension of license and permit privileges. Counsel for both parties reported they had reached a stipulated resolution.
Under the proposed agreement the appellant’s suspension would be stipulated as a 15‑year period running concurrent with the existing suspension that commenced on March 21, 2025, and continuing until March 20, 2040. Assistant attorney general Steven Kiser and the appellant’s counsel confirmed municipal-court matters remain separate and would not be affected by this administrative settlement.
The board voted to authorize the division and counsel to finalize and circulate the settlement order; the parties agreed to circulate a draft order to board members for review and the director will be authorized to sign once board counsel confirms the order matches the settlement terms.
Board counsel and staff said the appellant remains suspended while the parties prepare the formal order and that the suspension period will be clarified as concurrent with the earlier suspension in the written order.
