Board approves $1.5035 million amendment for Factory Shoals Park construction
The Newton County commissioners approved Amendment No.1 to a capital contract with Sunbelt Builders, adding a guaranteed maximum price that brings the contract total to $1,503,500 to move Factory Shoals Park into construction.

Representatives of Sunbelt Builders presented Amendment No.1 for Factory Shoals Park to the Newton County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 6, asking the board to approve a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) addition of $1,500,000 to the existing preconstruction contract. Jeff Klein and Benjamin Anderson said design work and staff coordination produced a recommended scope and GMP to permit construction to begin.
