Council hears six-month update on Beavercreek Road annexation; traffic signal and designer work in planning

City planning staff told the Bristol City Council on Jan. 6 that work is underway following last year’s approval of the Beavercreek Road annexation.
Miss Young reported the annexation covers two parcels totaling roughly 3.66 acres at the entrance to the Fox Meadows subdivision. A traffic signal at the Beavercreek Road and Highway 394 intersection has been added to the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Improvement Plan, and 20% of the project budget is included in the city’s 2026 capital improvement plan.
Young said staff will begin design work early in the year; full implementation is likely a couple of years out. She noted sanitary sewer service for the annexed property will be the developer’s responsibility once the developer determines plans for the land.
The update fulfills a Tennessee Code Annotated requirement to provide a six-month progress report after annexation approval; the council will receive further reports at the one-year mark and annually thereafter until the plan of services is satisfied.
