Finance staff explained the first resolution would appropriate $22,000 from donated funds previously earmarked for the police K-9 program to purchase and train an additional canine. The police K-9 program is primarily funded through community donations.
The second resolution transfers $150,000 from contingency to the general fund to cover workers’ compensation claims that exceeded the low base premium level the city pays upfront. The third resolution transfers $85,000 from contingency to the administrative services fund to cover retirement costs for the public works director.
Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded objections.
