Meriwether County commission names 2026 chair and approves several county appointments
At its organizational meeting, the Meriwether County Commission elected Commissioner Collins as chair and Commissioner Snelson as vice chair for 2026 and approved reappointments and new hires including county administrator John Gordon, county clerk Allison Stevens, deputy clerk Hailey Palmer and county attorney Glover Davis.

The Meriwether County Commission opened its first meeting of the year with procedural business and a series of personnel appointments on the consent agenda. Commissioners voted to appoint Commissioner Collins as chair for 2026 and Commissioner Snelson as vice chair. The board then reappointed John Gordon as county administrator and approved Allison Stevens as county clerk, Hailey Palmer as deputy clerk and Glover Davis as county attorney.
