The Fair Board updated Mitchell County officials on a stronger season and new ticketing practices. A Fair Board representative said the 2025 fair recorded 5,339 attendees at the grandstand and generated roughly $77,000 in gate receipts, up from about $57,000 the previous year. The board credited both promotional efforts and a move toward electronic ticketing.
Speaker 6 said volunteer hours were tallied at about 1,900 and that fairs.com provided electronic ticketing and data support. The vendor’s system allows pre-purchasing and reporting on attendance and concessions; the board emphasized volunteers staffed a help line and on-site kiosks assisted attendees who preferred to pay cash. “We had quite a supportive team,” Speaker 6 said, noting a rainout the first night reduced the number of grandstand nights but in 2026 the board expects four nights to further increase receipts.
The supervisors thanked the Fair Board for the report and asked clarifying questions about whether grants or county funding were included in the reported receipts. The Fair Board confirmed grant revenue is accounted for separately.
