The Will County Finance Committee approved a package of routine financial measures at a recent meeting, including tax abatements for two series of general-obligation bonds and several budget adjustments and appropriations.
The committee unanimously approved Resolution 25-3952, to abate taxes for GO bond series 2025A, and Resolution 25-3954, to abate taxes for GO bond series 2025B. Both measures were moved and seconded and were adopted by voice vote.
Members also approved an appropriation to record an enterprise-zone payment in the land-use budget, a fiscal-year 2025 budget transfer described as "cleanup from last year," an appropriation in the corners budget for a grant that the county may receive, and a budget amendment for the Will County Health Department. Each item was moved, seconded and passed by voice vote.
Speaker 1, who presided over the meeting, called the motions and declared them carried after members voiced their approval. The committee set its next meeting for Feb. 3, 2026. No formal roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript for the votes; minutes should be consulted for any detailed vote record.
No executive session was held and no formal action was taken on an off-agenda proposal regarding a federal scholarship tax-credit; that topic was discussed but not voted on.
